"Gods In Progress" is one song that I didn’t understand until about a year after I wrote it. In some ways it deals with the abuses of modern spirituality and in others is a comment on human relationship.
lyrics
Be it unto me
As it was spoken
The line across your hip
Where I lay down
Tie him like a cross
On your shoulder
Lay him like a man who has no options
Gods in progress
And I don’t get it
Say it like a prayer
Until you mean it
Lead me to the altar
I won’t blame you
Take it on the chin
Until you know him
Hidden in the heart of
All your patience
